Spring into Community Action Luncheon — Non-Profit Showcase
Be sure to join us Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 11:30 am Langley's Restaurant at Great Neck Country Club, 28 Lamphere Road, Waterford, for our Spring into Community Action Luncheon, $25 for all registered by midnight Sunday, $30 at the door (walk-ins welcome), includes gratuity and tax.
The April 17th luncheon will feature tabletop displays from many of our own Network member non-profit organizations, as well as community agencies that our members are affiliated with who may be looking for volunteers, helping hands, advisers, collaborators, Board members, and donors. We’ll have time to meet the different representatives and see what areas interest us as we “Spring Into Community Action.” And by each of us helping out locally, we help to build our community, and very likely, our own businesses! Non-profit organizations below: Always Home, Inc. – For 25 years Always Home has pursued a single mission, Preventing Family Homelessness. Our goal is to keep families housed and to help parents create lasting stability for their children. We focus exclusively on serving Eastern Connecticut families with minor children and work to keep them in their own housing and out of emergency shelter, so children never have to experience the trauma of being homeless. Artreach, Inc. – Artreach’s mission is to heal through creativity. Their programs use the creative arts to support sustainable recovery from psychiatric disorders and to raise awareness about mental health in the community-at-large. By providing theater, music, visual arts, and recreational opportunities to members, we enhance the quality of our members' lives and teach skills that help them achieve and sustain recovery after experiencing mental illness. Auxiliary of L+M Hospital was founded in 1914 and has maintained its mission "to support L+M Hospital and all its efforts to improve the health of the community," for 110 years. The members of the Auxiliary have adapted to the needs of each era. They have provided the materials, equipment, monetary needs, morale boosters and much more for the hospital and the community. L+M Hospital is the cornerstone of our community. The Auxiliary and its 200 members are proud to be continuing supporters.
