Safe Futures is building a new facility to house its Voices Committee and the new Center for Safe Futures which will incorporate this innovative way to serve individuals and families experiencing abuse. Suzi Schell will talk about the role of Safe Future's Voices committee in helping to shape the Family Justice Center and some of the other work they are doing. Marie Kenny has worked on behalf of victims of abuse for more than thirty-five years. This includes having served ten years on the Massachusetts State Police. As a trooper, she specialized in the investigation of domestic violence and sexual assault cases and helped develop statewide policies and trainings. After moving to CT, Marie continued to volunteer and work on behalf of victims/survivors. At Safe Futures, she is the Director of Client Access and the Project Coordinator for The Center for Safe Futures, helping to develop a new model for how we support and serve individuals who have experienced abuse. Christine Foster has worked at Safe Futures for 6 years, starting as a domestic violence advocate at emergency shelter and moving into various positions such as child advocate, employment specialist, and shelter supervisor.
