The Girl Power Collaborative will present at the August 16, 2023 Network Luncheon. The Girl Power Collaborative was created in 2018 for the purpose of bringing together non-profit organizations that supported women and girls. Four women came together, discussed how this could work, what fundraisers we could put together and who would do what. We all fell into our strengths and have worked easily together for the last 5 years. No egos, no divas, no stress - just each getting the job done. Who are these wonderful women and their organizations? Kate McDonald, Executive Director of Girls on the Run Susan Corrice with the Montville Girl Scouts Kathy Greene, Soroptimist International Connecticut Shoreline Vivian Harrison, S.T.E.P.S. (Striving Toward Empowered Personal Success) Since our inception in 2018, Deb Evans and Wendy Ladd from S.T.E.P.S. and Karen Hedberg from Soroptimist have joined the team! Together, our organizations serve more than 1200 women and girls annually. This collaboration helps increase our networks, our community awareness, raise the presence of our organizations and secure resources. On November 20, 2019, the Girl Power Collaborative received the first Collaboration of the Year Award from the Eastern Chamber of Commerce!
