April Renee Tischler Installation Navy Gold Star Program Coordinator, Mid-Atlantic Region (Located at Naval Submarine Base New London, CT) April Tischler is the Installation Navy Gold Star Program Coordinator at the Fleet and Family Support Center onboard Naval Submarine Base New London, Connecticut. April is a Grief Recovery Specialist and since 2019 has been working with Gold Star Families. She provides support for Gold Star families in Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Ontario and eastern Canada. April received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Valdosta State University. A strong advocate of empowering families to thrive through challenges in the military culture, April joined government service in 2012 and has a passion fueled by 20 years of varied experience with Military family programs. In January 2022 April was awarded the Navy Gold Star Program Coordinator of the Year.
