As alternates for the members of the Board of Directors of the
Southeastern Connecticut Women’s NETWORK, it is your duty to attend the
monthly Board of Directors meetings and act in accordance with the
Bylaws of the NETWORK.
It is your responsibility to represent the interests of the
membership in supporting the mission and purpose of the Southeastern
Connecticut Women’s NETWORK.
As a Board Member Alternate you shall stay up-to-date on the
management of the business of the NETWORK in the event you are needed to
make a quorum. In the event a quorum is not present through the
Officers, Immediate Past President or Directors at Large, you will be
counted for a quorum and will have a vote for that meeting or until a
quorum is attained with its regular members.
Alternates do not normally have a vote or propose motions (exceptions, see above), but may be involved in discussion.
If a Director at Large resigns, then an Alternate will be asked to
fulfill the retired Director’s term. Their filling of a Director’s
position will be voted on by the Board.
Director Alternates shall serve for the duration of their term and
thereafter until their respective successors have been elected.
Director Alternates shall attend the retreats.
Are encouraged to take an active role in one or more of the
committees established by the NETWORK, including but not limited to
chairing and/or becoming actively involved in one or more of the
committees, and volunteer to coordinate and/or play an active role in
planning/managing special events that may be sponsored by the NETWORK
during the course of the year.
